Performance Anxiety Treatment, Therapy & Counselling in the UK
On this page are counsellors and therapists listed who offer therapy, treatment, counselling and support to people with Performance anxiety.
The term is commonly used to describe stage fright, which is stress or fear before performing or speaking in front of people. It is also sometimes used as a shortened version of the term sexual performance anxiety, which is a fear related to having sex. However, these are just two examples.
People can experience performance anxiety with anything, and it can become a pattern. With treatment, this is a challenge that can be reduced and even overcome.

Anxiety is usually linked with overthinking things, and often leads to convincing ourselves of the worst possible reasons or results of what may be happening in the future. If we tend to feel worried in a negative way about things this is more likely to cause us trouble. Rather than trying to remove anxiety it may be better to recognise it has its uses, a bit like pain which can be useful to alert us to potential physical problems. But anxiety can get out of control, so with some help it can be returned to being useful.

Anxiety can leave us feeling overwhelmed and worn out, tense and on edge through the day, yet wide awake at night, unable to switch off from the intrusive thoughts. Often we hide how we’re really feeling from those we love, putting on a brave face while struggling inside. Phobias can add another layer, making us avoid plans, dread situations, or feel small in moments we wish we felt strong. You don’t have to carry this alone. I help women gently calm anxiety, quiet unwanted thoughts, regain control and rebuild confidence
